Audet dit Lapointe family gathering at Mont-Tourbillon, Lac Beauport, Quebec

It is in the enchanting site of Mont-Tourbillon in Lac-Beauport that the great "Audet/Lapointe" family celebrated its 6th Reunion on October 3rd and 4th, 2008

  • Friendly activities promoting friendship amongst all cousins, presentations, workshops and visit, all surrounded with beautiful fall colours.
  • Attendance and participation by our guests and 200 participants.
  • The workshops conducted by Guy St-Hilaire and Gaston Audet-Lapointe were appreciated.
  • The visit to Île-d'Orléans was well-attended by those wanting to see the monument dedicated to our ancestor Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe, a monument inaugurated the previous day in the presence of the Mayor of Maulais, M. Alain Blot, among others.
  • The highlight of the Reunion was the dinner, livened by the music of an accordion player and by Dr. Gilles Lapointe's humoristic presentation.
  • The success of the 2008 Audet-Lapointe Reunion was possible thanks to the volunteer members of the organizing committee: Michel Lapointe (President of the Organizing Committee), Marie-Ève Audet, Joanne Lapointe, Louise Lapointe, Lucie Lapointe end Marcel Lapointe.

Unveiling of the Nicolas Audet commemorative plaque on October 3, 2008 at St-Jean, Île d'Orléans

  • We can be very proud, today, to unveil this commemorative plaque in the memory and in honnor of our ancestor Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe and his wife Magdeleine Després.
  • With this plaque, our Association and its members are now part of the municipality of St-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans.  M. Pierre Béland pointed out to us the pride of the St-Jean municipality in having such a beautiful commemorative plaque on its territory.  It fits perfectly with the historic heritage of the municipality.
  • Our ancestor left his small village of Maulais around 1663.  It is a safe bet that his life in New France was very busy.  As mayor of Maulais, M. Alain Blot expressed his emotion to us for the tribute to Nicolas and for highlighting the name of the small French village of Maulais.
  • His wife Christine and himself are happy to share this great moment with us. The Atlantic separates France from Quebec, but the Association of the Descendants of Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe now links the village of Maulais to St-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans.
