360th Anniversary

Nicolas Audet's Arrival

2023 marks the arrival in New France, in 1663, of Nicolas Audet, ancestor of all the Audets, Audettes, and the most important source of all the Lapointes in New France and the Americas.

It was also in 1663 that the first contingent of the 'Filles du Roy' (King's Daughters) arrived.  They were nearly 800 courageous young girls and women, arriving from France between 1663 and 1673 to populate the colony and give birth to an entire nation.

Filles du Roy

350th anniversary

2020 marked the 350th anniversary of the arrival in New France of Magdeleine Després, 'Fille du Roy'. She arrived in 1670, married our ancestor Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe the same year and she is the source or numerours descendants. These 'Filles du Roy' were nearly 800 courageous young girls and women who arrived from France between 1663 and 1673 to populate the colony and give birth to a whole people.
